Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland (SBHI) is looking for a full-time
Health Development Officer to commence an **Apply on the
website**-month contract from October (extension dependent on
funding).
The position is offered on full-time ( * hrs
p/week) working on a hybrid basis - in the National Resource Centre,
Clondalkin Dublin and remotely.
The purpose of the SBHI Health Development Project is to facilitate a
greater standard of understanding and experience with regards to
positive health promotion in the spina bifida and hydrocephalus
community in Ireland. The project is delivered through the Health
Development Officer whose role focuses on increasing positive health
awareness, understanding, and experience amongst those living with
spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus (SB/H). The Health Development
Officer will deliver services and create resources to improve the
health of SBHI’s members, by informing members, their carers, and
professionals. This post involves developing and maintaining strong
working relationships with healthcare professionals, funders,
partners, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure SBHI meets the
needs of people living with spina bifida or hydrocephalus. This is a
challenging role in a charity setting, demands on your capabilities
will be tested and we require someone who thrives on overcoming tough
situations with initiative and high levels of self-motivation. You
will be fully supported by a hands-on CEO and Deputy CEO, as well as
the wider team of your SBHI colleagues who combine to facilitate
life-changing work on behalf of everyone affected.
You will need your own car, a clean driving licence, and business
insurance cover to fulfil this position. Mileage costs are reimbursed
for all work-related travel expenses subject to available budget for
this purpose.
